Leave of Absence and Withdrawal from Studies
Leave of Absence
Article 33:
A student may take a leave of absence for a maximum of one semester in associate and non-continuous bachelor’s degree programs, and for two consecutive or alternate semesters in continuous bachelor’s degree programs.
Note:
The duration of the leave of absence is considered part of the maximum allowed period of study for the student in each program.
Article 34:
The application for a leave of absence must be submitted in writing by the student to the educational administration of the college or university at least two weeks before the start of registration for each semester.
Note:
The educational administration is required to communicate its agreement or disagreement with the student’s request in writing after consulting the relevant educational group before the registration deadline.
Withdrawal from Studies
Article 35:
Withdrawing from studies without obtaining permission from the university is considered a withdrawal from studies, and a student who has withdrawn is not entitled to continue studying.
Note: In exceptional cases where the student believes their withdrawal is justified, they must present their reasons to the university at least one month before the end of that semester. If the university approves the justification for the withdrawal, that semester will be counted as part of the student’s leave of absence.
Article 36:
A student wishing to withdraw from studies must personally submit their withdrawal request to the educational administration of the university. This student is only allowed to retract their withdrawal request once within one month from the date of the request. After this period, their withdrawal will be processed, and the student will have no right to continue in that program.
Note 1:
A student who has withdrawn is obligated to fulfill all commitments made during their studies.
Note 2:
A student re-enrolling after withdrawal must attend and pass the nationwide entrance exam according to the relevant regulations.
