Mathematics Group

The Mathematics Group currently has 6  faculty members in the master's program in applied mathematics with a focus on  numerical analysis and is accepting students..

 Field Introduction:

Applied mathematics is a branch of mathematics that has applications in industry, medicine, agriculture, and other sciences. It can be confidently stated that mathematics is one of the fundamental pillars of modern science and engineering. In this context, numerical analysis plays a significant role in calculating numerical values of quantities and has showcased its ability to make all sciences, especially physics, applicable and industrialized. Although one can independently study numerical analysis problems, the agreements established by this group have enabled collaborative work with the physics group, including the definition of joint theses in mathematics and physics, which has enriched the projects defined. The mathematics group aims to expand these collaborations with other fields to make the sciences more applicable..

 Necessary Skills for Applicants :

Completion of specialized courses in numerical analysis, familiarity with a mathematical software, and a strong foundation in mathematics, particularly in the subjects of analysis, numerical analysis, linear algebra, and ordinary and partial differential equations, are prerequisites for entering the beautiful world of numerical analysis..

Skills of Graduates and Career Opportunities :

Students in the numerical analysis program will engage in research to numerically solve practical problems, including heat transfer issues, numerical solutions of ordinary differential equations, numerical solutions of partial differential equations, numerical solutions of integral equations, numerical solutions of boundary and initial value problems, and numerical solutions of integral-differential equations, as well as numerical linear algebra applicable to natural phenomena, particularly in mathematical models of medical issues such as infectious and cancer diseases. It is with this insight that the system of creation speaks to us in the language of mathematics, leading us into a vast world where mathematics is the official language..

Continuing Education at Higher Levels :

Graduates of the master's program in numerical analysis can continue their education in the doctoral entrance exam in the following fields::

  1. Applied Mathematics in the Field of Numerical Analysis
  2. Applied Mathematics in the Field of Ordinary Differential Equations
  3. Applied Mathematics in the Field of  Partial Differential Equations
  4. Applied Mathematics in the Field of Dynamical Systems
  5. Other Fields of Applied Mathematics
