Mathematics Group

Introduction to the Mathematics Group:

The Mathematics Group currently comprises 6  faculty members at the master's level in applied mathematics with a focus on  numerical analysis and is conducting student admissions..

 Field Introduction:

Applied Mathematics is a branch of mathematics that has applications in industry, medicine, agriculture, and other sciences. It can be confidently stated that mathematics is a fundamental pillar of modern sciences and engineering. In this regard, numerical analysis plays a significant role in calculating numerical values of quantities and has showcased its capability in applying and industrializing all fields of science, especially physics. Although issues in numerical analysis can be examined independently, this group has been able to establish collaborative projects with the physics group, including joint theses in mathematics and physics, enriching the defined projects. The mathematics group aims to expand these collaborations with other disciplines to apply sciences more effectively..

 Required Skills for Applicants :

Completion of specialized courses in numerical analysis, familiarity with a mathematical software, and a strong foundation in mathematics, particularly in the courses of analysis, numerical analysis, linear algebra, and ordinary and partial differential equations are prerequisites for entering the beautiful world of numerical analysis..

Skills of Graduates and Job Opportunities :

Students in the numerical analysis program are engaged in research on the numerical solutions of practical issues, including heat transfer problems, numerical solutions of ordinary differential equations, numerical solutions of partial derivative equations, numerical solutions of integral equations, and numerical solutions of boundary value and initial value problems, as well as numerical linear algebra that arises in natural phenomena, particularly in mathematical models of medical issues, such as models for infectious and cancer diseases. With this insight, the system of creation speaks to us in the language of mathematics, and we enter a vast world where mathematics is the official language..

 Further Study Opportunities :

Graduates of the master's program in numerical analysis can continue their studies in the doctoral entrance exam in the following fields::

  1. Applied Mathematics Branch: Numerical Analysis
  2. Applied Mathematics Branch: Ordinary Differential Equations
  3. Applied Mathematics Branch: Differential Equations  Partial
  4. Applied Mathematics Branch: Dynamic Systems
  5. Other specializations in Applied Mathematics
