According to the public relations office of the university: The farewell and appreciation ceremony for Dr. Khoshnavisan, former president of Qom University of Technology, and the introduction of Dr. Rezaei Noor, the new president of the university, was held with the presence of Dr. Simaei Sarraf, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Deputy of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, along with several officials from the national and provincial levels.
Dr. Simaei Sarraf, while thanking Dr. Khoshnavisan and Dr. Rezaei Noor for their efforts, stated: "The University of Technology should be a technology-driven university. The success of a technology-driven university is measured by how it facilitates human life."
He added: "Considering the sanctions, our universities should be problem-oriented and should address the country’s issues and challenges with a delicate, precise, and scientific approach."
The Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Deputy of the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology emphasized: "The quantitative expansion of universities should not be the priority; rather, the focus should be on scientific development and research activities within universities. For instance, our ministries, such as the Ministry of Cooperation, Labor, and Social Welfare, as well as the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Oil, established their universities, but officials have now concluded that this has not had a significant positive impact. Undoubtedly, quality should not be sacrificed for quantity."
During the ceremony, Dr. Bahram Khoshnavisan, while appreciating the organization of this ceremony, referred to the financial problems and budget constraints at the start of his presidency at Qom University of Technology and said: "One of my concerns during my term was to strengthen the spirit of self-belief within the university, which thanks to God has achieved considerable academic and research advancements today, securing a good position in the country and province."
The former president of Qom University of Technology stated: "Dr. Rezaei Noor, during this short time in office, has applied a jihadi spirit to programs aimed at organizing the university and fostering a lively atmosphere, and I hope he continues with that same energy in advancing the university’s goals successfully and effectively."
In continuation, Dr. Rezaei Noor, the new president of Qom University of Technology, welcomed attendees and expressed: "I am very grateful to the ministry officials for the trust they have placed in me and for assigning this significant responsibility to me."
The president of Qom University of Technology, while thanking the efforts of former presidents of this university, remarked on the strategic position of the province in terms of political, industrial, scientific, and geographical factors, and added: "The development of Qom University of Technology is synonymous with the development of the province's industry."
He discussed the advancements made by Qom University of Technology in the past 50 days, stating: "The establishment of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, officially registering the faculties, increasing educational spaces by 30%, establishing the Shahid Shahriari sports hall, establishing the Shahid Naqi Mashkoor al-Sadat library, setting up Informatics Workshop No. 2, equipping Informatics Workshop No. 1, and refurbishing the university conference hall are some of the actions accomplished in these last 50 days."
He continued: "Undoubtedly, taking such steps within a limited timeframe would not have been possible without the cooperation and solidarity of the hardworking family of Qom University of Technology."
The inauguration of four construction projects completed during Dr. Rezaei Noor's tenure, including the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Shahid Shahriari sports hall, Informatics Workshop No. 2, and Shahid Naqi Mashkoor al-Sadat library, was among the programs conducted at Qom University of Technology with the presence of Dr. Simaei Sarraf and national and provincial officials.
