According to the public relations office of the university: The conference "Serenity in the Light of Religion" was held with the presence of the heir of Ayatollah Al-Uzma Behjat (RA) (Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Ali Behjat) organized by the Counseling Center of Qom University of Technology on Saturday, 93/2/20 from 14:00 to 17:00 in the amphitheater.
In this conference, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Ali Behjat spoke about the practical interpretation of "Only in the remembrance of God do hearts find peace."
In response to students' questions about prayer, he said: The feeling of joy and presence of heart in prayer has a set of prerequisites outside of prayer and a set within prayer itself. What should be considered and acted upon before and outside of prayer is that a person should refrain from sin and not darken their heart. Sin tarnishes the soul and extinguishes the light of the heart. During prayer itself, a person should create a barrier around themselves so that nothing except God enters their mind, meaning they should divert their thoughts away from anything other than God.
He also added: One of the factors for achieving presence of heart is that we must control our senses throughout the twenty-four hours; because to gain presence of heart, we must prepare certain prerequisites. During the day, we need to control our ears, eyes, and also other organs and members so that real presence of heart can be established.
At the end of the discussion on prayer, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Behjat referred to a memory involving his father's prayer. He said: At my father's grave, I saw an unknown individual weeping and lamenting. I approached and inquired about the reason. The stranger said: A year ago, I became acquainted with Ayatollah Behjat and used to come from Tehran to Qom to perform congregational prayer led by him. He always became emotional during the "Salam" of the prayer, and tears would flow from his eyes, which always puzzled me. Until one night, I dreamt of Ayatollah Behjat praying. It was as though I was in a garden full of flowers and dreams in front of him. When the "Salam" of the prayer was recited, the garden slowly closed, and this was how I understood the secret of his "Salam" in prayer.
