According to the public relations of the university: Quoting the public relations of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, by a decree from the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, the young president of Qom University has been appointed as a main member of the National Youth Committee of the National Commission for UNESCO.
The first meeting of the National Youth Committee of the National Commission for UNESCO- Iran was held at the office of the Minister of Science, Research and Technology. Dr. Mansoor Gholami, the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, referenced the significant achievements of this ministry in the field of youth and stated: The appointment of young presidents for the country's universities and the reduction of the age gap between the old and new presidents are among the actions taken by the Ministry of Science to support and utilize the capacities of the country's youth.
The Minister of Science emphasized that the discourse of youth-oriented policies must continue and be institutionalized. He stressed the need to harness the talents of the youth in the path of the country's development and progress, and the necessity of transferring the managerial experiences of the previous generation to them.
Furthermore, Dr. Namvar Motlagh, the research deputy and director of the Culture Group of the National Commission for UNESCO, expressed gratitude for the support of the Minister of Science, Research and Technology and elaborated on the reasons for establishing a National Youth Committee in this commission, stating: This commission pursues the goals of the Islamic Republic of Iran in UNESCO.
He emphasized the high capacities of the youth and Iran's progress in important global arenas, highlighting the necessity of forming the National Youth Committee of the National Commission for UNESCO in Iran. He stated: Today's world belongs to the youth, and we must, while trusting them, introduce them to operational fields; as this is also a recurring recommendation from the Supreme Leader.
Additionally, Dr. Ahmadi, the cultural and community sports development deputy of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, regarded this segment of society as a crucial asset for the country and welcomed the establishment of the National Youth Committee in the National Commission for UNESCO, emphasizing the continuation of ongoing cooperation between the two ministries, especially with the National Commission.
At the end, Dr. Fatemeh Hosseini, a representative of the people of Tehran, Rey, and Shemiranat in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, pointed out the discussion of some issues related to youth in various committees of the parliament, stating: The Islamic Consultative Assembly will prioritize the needs of the youth and address their problems.
It is worth mentioning that in this meeting, Jalal Rezaei Noor, the president of Qom University; Eisa Vande as the meeting secretary; Yashar Najafi Malabashi, the representative of the Welfare Organization; and Niloufar Gachilo, the representative of the Vice Presidency for Women and Family Affairs also presented their opinions, while the outline of duties and review of actions were placed on the agenda for the next meeting.
