The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a message marking the beginning of the year 1398, designated the new year as the year of "Production Boom".
The text of the Leader's message is as follows:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O Turners of hearts and sights, O Manager of night and day, O Transformer of states and conditions, transform our state into the best state.
I thank God who decreed that this year, I would also congratulate the dear nation of Iran on the joyous occasion of Nowruz, which coincides with the auspicious birth of the Commander of the Faithful and the Master of the Pious. Happy New Year to you, dear compatriots! I hope all of you will go through this new year with happiness, physical health, joyful hearts, and increasing material and spiritual successes, God willing. I extend special congratulations to the respected families of martyrs and to the dear veterans and their families, and I send abundant greetings to the pure soul of our esteemed Imam and the pure souls of the martyrs.
We have gone through a year full of events. In the past year, the Iranian nation truly shone. Enemies had plans, they had plots against the Iranian nation. The solidity and vigilance of the nation and the determination of the youth thwarted the enemies' plans. In the face of severe sanctions, which they themselves termed unprecedented, from the United States and Europe, the Iranian nation demonstrated a strong and authoritative response both politically and economically.
In the political arena, the manifestation of this response was the massive rally on the 22nd of Bahman and the people's positions throughout the months of this year. The manifestation of economic opposition was marked by an increase in scientific and technical innovations, a significant rise in knowledge-based companies, and an increase in foundational and essential domestic production, such as the recent inauguration of multiple gas phases in the south of the country and, before that, the inauguration of the large Bandar Abbas refinery, among other efforts undertaken. Therefore, the nation was able to demonstrate its power, its grandeur, and its greatness in the face of the hostility and malice of its adversaries, and, thanks to God, the dignity of our nation, the dignity of our revolution, and the dignity of our Islamic Republic has increased.
The fundamental problem of the country remains the economic issue; especially in recent months, the people's livelihood challenges have increased. Part of these issues is related to inadequate management regarding economic matters, which must definitely be rectified. There are programs in place, and measures have been devised that, God willing, will bear fruit during this current year, the year that begins from this moment - the year 1398 - and the people will feel the effects of it. What I am stating is that the urgent issue of the country, the serious issue, and the priority of the country at the moment is the issue of "Economy". There are numerous issues concerning the economy: the devaluation of the national currency is a significant concern, similarly the purchasing power of the people, the difficulties faced by factories, underperformance, and potentially the closure of some factories are among these issues. These are problems. Based on my studies and the expertise I have consulted, the key to all of this is "national production development".
We declared the year 1397 as the year of "Support for Iranian Goods". I cannot say that this slogan was fully realized, but I can say that it received considerable attention and in many cases, this slogan was welcomed and acted upon by the people, which will certainly have an impact. This year, the issue of "production" is raised. I want to place the issue of production at the center of our activities. I will clarify my objectives regarding production, God willing, in my speech on the first day of the year, to explain what I mean by production. If production gets underway, it can solve livelihood issues, provide the country with independence from foreigners and enemies, resolve employment issues, and even significantly alleviate the problem of national currency value. Therefore, I believe the issue of production is the central matter for this year; thus I have set this slogan for the year: "#Production_Boom". Everyone should strive for production to flourish in the country. From the beginning of the year to the end of this year, God willing, this meaning should be visibly felt across the nation. If this happens, we hope that the solution to economic problems will be initiated, God willing.
I send my heartfelt greetings and salutations to the presence of the Guardian of the Age (may our souls be sacrificed for him) and I request his prayers for you, the dear nation, and I ask God for the prosperity of the Iranian nation and all the nations that honor Nowruz.
