The President of Qom University of Technology stated in a news interview held with reporters from the province that, according to statistics, all departments at Qom University of Technology have a good job market, and graduates quickly find employment in fields related to their studies.
Dr. Jalal Rezaei Noar emphasized that Qom University of Technology, in addition to remarkable scientific advancements, has today become a successful university in the arena of entrepreneurship and student employment. Based on the latest statistics, it has achieved the third rank in the country for employing bachelor's degree graduates and the seventh rank among public universities for master's degree graduates.
He added that this situation reflects the high productivity of Qom University of Technology, which has managed to achieve these significant accomplishments in the fields of science and student employment despite some limitations compared to larger universities. Today, studying at Qom University of Technology is considered one of the important priorities for university entrance exam candidates, and incoming students to this university possess a high academic level.
He mentioned that Qom University of Technology, with 72 faculty members, accommodates 2,000 students across 28 fields and disciplines at various educational levels, and efforts to increase these fields and the number of students through a comprehensive plan at this university are ongoing, including increasing the capacity for accepting international students.
It is worth mentioning that Qom University of Technology started operating in 2008 with two fields: Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering, aimed at training committed and religious students. There are 112 active universities in the country, and according to the new ranking of universities by the ISC Institute, Qom University of Technology is ranked 65th, which is an improvement of 22 ranks from last year. However, it is important to consider indicators such as the university's budget, facilities and buildings, number of faculty members, and student enrollment, in which Qom University of Technology holds a better position compared to larger universities in some cases.
Additionally, among the 25 technical universities in the country, Qom University of Technology has achieved the 17th rank, which is a rise of three ranks compared to the previous year. According to the 2023 ranking announced by SCImago, Qom University of Technology entered this global ranking system for the first time, obtaining the 190th rank among government, private, and non-profit educational and research institutions under the Ministry of Science and the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
The SCImago ranking system is conducted by a research group of the same name at the University of Granada in Spain, which began evaluating and ranking universities and scientific-research institutions worldwide in 2009. This international ranking system evaluates and ranks the universities based on the number of scientific articles published by higher education institutions in various countries, as recorded in their Scopus databases.
Qom University of Technology has secured the eighth rank in the country by hosting 30 specialized conferences and joint events with universities, research institutes, and higher education centers in cooperation with industries and executive bodies in 2023.
Furthermore, Qom University of Technology earned the fourth rank among universities, research institutes, and higher education centers in the country by organizing 311 specialized courses; receiving the fifth place in the index for the number of skill enhancement courses among the universities in the country in 2023, through 345 effective skill enhancement courses, is another of its achievements.
This university continuously holds specialized meetings with various governmental, military, private, and industrial entities and has engaged active faculty members and researchers in solving community problems. Considering that Qom University of Technology places a special emphasis on the relationship between students and the province's industries, research groups focused on addressing local issues have been active for nearly a year, and a revitalization research center has been established at the university.
