Visit of Electrical Power Engineering Students from Qom University of Technology to the Provincial Electricity Distribution Company

According to the public relations of the university: Electrical engineering students from Qom University of Technology visited the dispatching and network control center of the Qom Distribution Company. This visit aimed to develop communication between industry, university, and better education for students, as well as interaction in line with the industrial partnership program supervised by Dr. Hassan Zadeh, a faculty member of Qom University of Technology.
Dr. Hassan Zadeh mentioned regarding the dispatching center: Due to the critical importance of maintaining the power network, the control system must have very high reliability, and the likelihood of failure should be minimal, while information should be transmitted quickly between network centers and equipment.
He added: Today, the complexity and expansion of power networks have reached a point where controlling with a single center is not feasible, and several control centers are considered for this task. Therefore, the division of responsibilities in power networks should be based on functionality and geographical limitations, and necessary coordination must exist among various centers for proper supervision over the power system's performance.
A faculty member of Qom University of Technology, regarding the objectives and responsibilities of the dispatching center, said: Monitoring, supervision, control, and ensuring the stability and optimal operation of the transmission and sub-transmission network. Planning for requested outages for repair, service, maintenance, and development of the transmission and sub-transmission network, as well as coordination and supervision over the repair, service, maintenance, and development of telecommunications systems, are among the duties of this center. Coordination and supervision over the repair, service, maintenance, and development of telecommunications systems (wireless, PLC, telephone and telephone centers, microwave, etc.) and telemetry are also under the responsibility of the dispatching center.
