Minister of Science, Research and Technology Approves the Establishment of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Qom University of Technology Under the National Capital Development Budget

According to the Public Relations Office of Qom University of Technology, in a significant strategic achievement resulting from months of sustained effort and interdepartmental coordination, the Minister of Science, Research and Technology has approved the establishment of the University's **Faculty of Engineering and Technology** through funding allocated under the country's **Capital Asset Acquisition Budget**.

This approval marks a major milestone in the completion of the University's physical infrastructure and is expected to bring about a substantial improvement in the educational and research services provided to students in the region.

According to the detailed report on the implementation process, all national executive bodies seeking funding from the national public budget for capital development projects are required to prepare comprehensive technical, economic, and financial documentation through a multi-stage evaluation process. Following approval by the relevant ministry—in this case, the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology—the proposal must be submitted to the National Planning and Budget Organization for final authorization and budget allocation. Qom University of Technology successfully completed all of these stages in full compliance with national regulations and procedures.

One of the major obstacles to the project had been the legal and registration issues related to the University's land ownership deed. Fortunately, this issue was resolved during the previous summer. Following this achievement, a specialized task force comprising representatives from the Vice Presidency for Administrative and Financial Affairs, the Technical Office, the Office of Planning and Development, the Vice Presidency for Education and Research, and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology was established.

The task force immediately began preparing comprehensive feasibility studies covering technical, economic, social, and environmental aspects of the project. After obtaining approval from the University's Board of Trustees and receiving technical endorsement from experts at the Ministry of Science, the final proposal was submitted to the Minister of Science, Research and Technology for consideration.

As a result of the University's continuous follow-up efforts and the Minister's recognition of Qom University of Technology's pivotal role in advancing science, technology, and innovation within Qom Province, the proposal received formal approval.

It is worth noting that the Minister of Science, Research and Technology has also submitted an official letter to the President of the National Planning and Budget Organization, requesting the allocation of the necessary financial resources for the prompt construction of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, given that the project's comprehensive feasibility report has been fully completed and approved.

This official correspondence reflects the Ministry's strong commitment to the timely implementation of this strategic project. It is hoped that, through continued and focused follow-up with the National Planning and Budget Organization during the current fiscal year, the required approval will also be secured, enabling a dedicated and sustainable budget allocation for the project to be incorporated into the University's budget for the coming year. Such support will pave the way for the commencement of the construction of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and further strengthen the University's educational and research infrastructure.
