Supervision and evaluation in advanced societies pave the way for the efficiency and effectiveness of their respective systems and always hold an important and noteworthy position. This matter is especially significant in higher education, as the higher education system, as a leading and policy-defining entity, can create the foundation for development in social, cultural, and human dimensions and influence other sectors. For this reason, being aware of the extent to which higher education goals are achieved and understanding the shortcomings and strengths (current status) are essential tools that can assist decision-makers, policymakers, and planners in higher education to improve methods, achieve goals, and increase productivity. To fulfill the objectives set forth in Article 1 of the regulation on the formation and operation of the Higher Education Supervision and Evaluation Council approved on 1386/2/22, supervision and evaluation offices are established as the secretariat of the Supervision and Evaluation Council in each university and higher education institution across the country. The Director of the Supervision and Evaluation Office is appointed by the university president’s selection and decree.
