  • History of the University Quality Assurance, Supervision, and Evaluation Office

The Supervision and Evaluation Office of Qom University of Technology began its activities in 2015 under the title of Supervision and Evaluation Management, aiming to evaluate, supervise, and improve the quality of education based on educational standards. After the new regulation on supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance by the Ministry of Science was issued in 2017, it continued its activities overseeing all university aspects under the title of the University Supervision, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance Group. The main goals of the office are as follows.

  • Objectives of the Quality Assurance, Supervision, and Evaluation Office:

According to the Regulation on the Establishment of Council and Management of Supervision, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, Research, and Technology Institutions No. 108601/ dated 08/13/2017, the goals of the University Quality Assurance, Supervision, and Evaluation Office are as follows:

  1. Systematic and strategic analysis of the mission, goals, and performance of the institution to identify strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges
  2. Institutionalizing and spreading the culture of supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance within the institution
  3. Enhancing the quality of input, process, and output components of the institution
  4. Institutionalizing internal evaluation as one of the main processes in planning to improve the quality of educational, research, technological, cultural, social, student, and executive activities of the institution
  5. Increasing efficiency through a systematic supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance process within the institution
  6. Establishing uniform procedures in all operational areas of supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance within the institution
  7. Strengthening the institution’s accountability to internal and external stakeholders
  8. Enhancing and assuring systematic quality of the institution by reviewing and comparing the current status with national, regional, and international standards

Accordingly, the following items are on the agenda of this office.

  1. Evaluation and enhancement of educational quality at the university
  2. Assessing the extent of achieving quantitative and qualitative goals set by the higher education system at the university
  3. Monitoring proper implementation of educational programs
  4. Supervising the implementation of resolutions by the Higher Education Supervision, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance Council at the university
  5. Periodic evaluation of educational quality by students, graduates, and faculty members
  6. Reviewing and supervising research activities of specialized groups
  7. Reviewing and monitoring completion of existing educational and research statistics and proposing suitable solutions to improve educational quality and enhance research activities
  8. Supervising the duties of the university selected committee secretariat regarding review and granting promotions to faculty members
  9. Planning supervision and evaluation across all university departments and decision-making based on the results
  10. Conducting empowerment workshops to improve the quality of education and research of faculty members
