History of the Office of Supervision, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance at the University
The Office of Supervision and Evaluation at Qom University of Technology commenced its activities in 2015 under the title of Management of Supervision and Evaluation, aiming to assess, supervise, and enhance the quality of education based on educational standards. Following the issuance of the new regulation on supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology in 2017, it has continued its activities under the name of the Office of Supervision, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance, overseeing all aspects of the university. The main objectives of the office are as follows
Objectives of the Office of Supervision, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance:
According to the regulation on the formation of councils and management of supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance in higher education, research, and technology institutions (number 108601, dated 22/05/2017), the objectives of the Office of Supervision, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance at the university are as follows:
- Systematic and strategic analysis of the institution's mission, goals, and performance to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges.
- Institutionalizing and promoting a culture of supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance within the institution.
- Enhancing the quality of input, process, and output components of the institution.
- Institutionalizing internal evaluation as one of the main processes in planning to improve the quality of educational, research, technological, cultural, social, student, and administrative activities of the institution.
- Increasing productivity through a systematic process of supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance within the institution.
- Creating uniform procedures for supervision, evaluation, and quality assurance across all functional areas of the institution.
- Strengthening the institution's accountability to internal and external stakeholders.
- Promoting and ensuring systematic quality in the institution by examining and comparing the current status with national, regional, and international standards.
Based on this, the following items will be on the agenda of this office:
- Evaluation and enhancement of educational quality at the university.
- Assessment of the achievement of quantitative and qualitative goals set in the higher education system at the university.
- Supervision of the proper implementation of educational programs.
- Monitoring the implementation of the resolutions of the Higher Education Supervision, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance Council at the university.
- Periodic evaluation of educational quality by students, alumni, and faculty members.
- Review and oversight of the research activities of specialized groups.
- Examination and monitoring of existing educational and research statistics and providing appropriate solutions to improve educational quality and enhance research activities.
- Supervision of the duties related to the secretariat of the university's selected committee for reviewing and granting promotions to faculty members.
- Planning for the supervision and evaluation of all university sectors and decision-making based on the results.
- Organizing capacity-building workshops to enhance the quality of education and research for faculty members.
