Bilateral cooperation between Qom University of Technology and Semnan University has begun.

According to the university's public relations office, a joint meeting between the officials of Semnan University and Qom University of Technology was held to initiate educational and research collaborations. In this meeting, which was convened at the invitation of the Vice President for Education and Research of Qom University of Technology, the grounds for bilateral cooperation regarding writing and collaborating on joint projects were discussed.
Dr. Ehsani, the Vice President for Research and Technology at Semnan University, elaborated on this university's performance in various educational and research indicators, reputation, internationalization, industry relations, and so forth, from the perspective of the Times ranking system.
He analyzed the research performance of various universities and noted: the prerequisite for entering the Times ranking system is the publication of at least 1,000 scientific articles in the Scopus citation database, while the current count for Qom University of Technology is 572 articles. He added that the per capita number of international articles published by the faculty of Semnan University is 3 articles annually, whereas the corresponding figure for Qom University of Technology is approximately 1.2 articles per year, which, despite significant growth in recent years, requires further planning and actions for Qom University of Technology to enter the international ranking system.
This meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities.
It is worth mentioning that the Times ranking system is one of the most prestigious international ranking systems, evaluating the world's top universities annually in various assessments (global, regional, and disciplinary). In this ranking, universities are evaluated based on 17 quantitative indicators across five areas: education, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook. This system has published the global list of top universities for the year 2024, ranking a total of 1,904 universities worldwide.
