According to the Public Relations Department of Qom University of Technology, the Vice President for Administration and Finance of Qom University of Technology announced the start of the construction of the first phase of the university's solar power plant with a capacity of 60 kilowatts and said: "Developing clean energies and reducing dependence on fossil fuels are among the university's plans on the path to realizing a "green university."
Referring to the university's planning to provide at least 25 percent of the required electricity from clean sources, Dr. Talebi stated: "In the first phase of this plan, a solar power plant with a capacity of 60 kilowatts is being constructed, and its first part with a capacity of 10 kilowatts will be put into operation soon."


He added: In addition to providing part of the university's electricity needs through clean energy, the operation of this power plant can also help reduce current costs and manage energy consumption optimally, and in conditions of energy shortage, it can provide the basis for reducing the use of generators and fossil fuels.
Regarding the financing of this project, the Vice President for Administration and Finance of Qom University of Technology also said: In order to provide the financial resources required to implement this plan, the capacity of 2 million treasury bills has been used, which has enabled the project to be advanced and investment in the university's clean energy infrastructure.
Dr. Talebi continued: In addition to the development of renewable energies, Qom University of Technology has also pursued other measures in the field of resource management and environmental protection, including the operation of the university's wastewater treatment plant last year; in such a way that the university's need for irrigation of green spaces has been met by using purified water.
He concluded by noting: "With the completion of the university's solar power plant, it is hoped that in times of energy shortage, the use of generators at the university will be minimized, and while reducing costs, we will play our part in protecting the environment and providing sustainable energy."
