According to the public relations of Qom University of Technology, Dr. Ghanbari, the president of the university, along with the Vice President for Education and Research, the head of the Industry Relations Office, and some faculty members, visited the facilities and factory of the West Asia Steel Company. This visit, aimed at enhancing and deepening scientific, research, and industrial collaborations between the two organizations, identified new areas for future cooperation.
During this visit, which was warmly welcomed by the senior managers of West Asia Steel Company, both parties emphasized the necessity of strengthening the connection between scientific and industrial centers to address technological challenges and promote sustainable development.
Dr. Ghanbari stated: Today, third-generation universities are entrepreneurial and problem-oriented, defining their main mission as solving the problems of industry and society. Visiting a leading and large company like West Asia Steel presents a valuable opportunity to familiarize ourselves closely with the actual needs of the industry and to utilize the university's scientific and research capacities to meet these needs.
He added: Establishing targeted internships, joint thesis projects, launching joint laboratories, and organizing specialized training courses were among the focal points discussed for collaboration.
On the other hand, the CEO of West Asia Steel Company, while appreciating this initiative from Qom University of Technology, described this collaboration as a key factor for improving quality and innovation in production processes and stated: The steel industry, as one of the parent industries, is always in need of utilizing the latest knowledge and technologies. Collaboration with Qom University of Technology, which has excellent capacities in engineering fields, can significantly contribute to solving technical issues, optimizing energy consumption, and developing new products.
Based on this report, it was agreed to form a joint working group between the university and the company to develop and operationalize a roadmap for cooperation in the form of a comprehensive memorandum of understanding as soon as possible.
