According to the university's public relations, Dr. Rezai Nour, the president of Qom University of Technology, announced the implementation of 360-degree performance evaluation at the university. He stated that the 360-degree performance evaluation is a mechanism to receive feedback about the organization's members from various perspectives, including the opinions of managers, colleagues, subordinates, clients, and the individual themselves, which has today become commonplace in most private and public organizations. Dr. Rezai Nour added that for some time now, the performance evaluation process for university presidents and vice presidents has been conducted annually at the Ministry level based on this scientific method by the Monitoring and Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Science, and its reports are sent to the authorities in the Ministry, province, and university presidents.
He further indicated that this method is also being applied to the performance evaluation of vice presidents, deans, operational managers, and staff at Qom University of Technology and will continue periodically and as needed. Based on this method, all managers and employees of the university will be evaluated and ranked according to the opinions of various stakeholders, including managers, colleagues, subordinates, and students. It is evident that this criterion will serve as the basis for extending, promoting, or relocating the organizational positions of staff and for granting financial incentives or promotions.
The president of Qom University of Technology continued: For instance, the performance evaluation questionnaire for group managers in the context of 360-degree evaluation has been specified for the target groups periodically and as necessary. The evaluations are sent as six-option surveys, and the results obtained will be made available to the university's board of trustees after statistical analysis and summarizing the opinions of various stakeholders.
He added: The group of managers includes the dean, educational vice president, education manager, research manager, and members of the board of trustees. Additionally, the group of colleagues includes the managers of other educational groups in the faculty, the head of the technology group, the head of the industry relations group, the head of the publications group, the head of workshops and laboratories, the head of international collaborations, the head of the educational vice president's office, and the head of the president's office.
Dr. Rezai Nour explained: The subordinate group consists of faculty members of the group, part-time instructors, departmental experts, and laboratory and workshop specialists. The client group includes students at various academic levels. He commented on the questionnaire questions, saying: The average time to answer each questionnaire is about one minute, and the questions are as follows:
* Success in fulfilling responsibilities and solving problems within the work area
* Respecting and establishing appropriate communication and interaction
* Pursuing matters and completing tasks in a timely manner
* Availability for phone and non-in-person inquiries
* Attendance at the workplace and proper prioritization of tasks
* Accepting criticism and demonstrating flexibility and dynamism in task execution
* Planning semester schedules and appropriately timing the delivery of courses
* How much would you recommend him/her for the current or new responsibility?
In conclusion, Dr. Rezai Nour stated: It is expected that all university members will support us in the performance evaluation and correct decision-making process through effective participation in these surveys.
