Simultaneously with Doctor's Day, the President of Qom Industrial University commemorated the efforts and valuable services of the country's physicians.
According to the university's public relations report, during a meeting held to honor the eminent Iranian scholar and sage, Sheikh Al-Rais Abu Ali Sina, and on the occasion of Doctor's Day, Dr. Rezai Nour, the President of Qom Industrial University, offered condolences for the arrival of the month of Muharram and the days of mourning for the master and martyr Imam Hussein (PBUH). He regarded the martyrdom of over 180 physicians in the path of health as a strong testament to the principled nature of the physicians in the country and added that in the current situation of the coronavirus epidemic, the frontline for saving lives is in hospitals and treatment centers, where physicians and other healthcare professionals have stepped into this perilous arena by following the example of the martyr Imam, sacrificing their families and even their lives. On behalf of the academic community of Qom Industrial University, I would like to honor the sacrifice and dedication of this educated and scholarly group, and while wishing health for each and every one of these dear individuals, I hope that with trust in Almighty God and the support of our discerning people, we will witness the victory over this malevolent virus and its harmful effects within society.
It is worth mentioning that at the end of this meeting, Dr. Pour Ahmad, a physician at the university, was honored with a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative gift for several years of service to the professors, staff, and students of Qom Industrial University in the field of health and wellness.
In a part of the text of the certificate of appreciation from the university president, it is stated:
Physicians are the guarantors of community health, the emotional security of patients, and the angels of salvation who heal physical pain with their elevated spirits under the grace of divine favor.
I would like to congratulate you on the arrival of the first of Shahrivar, the anniversary of honoring the great scholar and prominent Iranian physician, Sheikh Al-Rais Abu Ali Sina, which fittingly has been designated as Doctor's Day, and I thank you for your untiring efforts as a treating physician at Qom Industrial University.
