Although years have passed since the imposed war, the memories of the bravery and self-sacrifice of the valiant men and women during the eight years of the Sacred Defense will never be forgotten. Yesterday's youth, through their martyrdom, ensured the dignity and power of Islamic Iran, and today's youth guarantee the honor and credibility of this land through scientific jihad.
The coincidence of the start of the academic year with the glorious week of Sacred Defense is very commendable and can initiate a vigorous scientific, cultural, and research movement that will enhance the independence and freedom of Islamic Iran in both national and international arenas.
Thus, while commemorating the Sacred Defense Week and the days of the month of Muharram, I sincerely congratulate and extend my best wishes for the new academic year, the month of Mehr, to the torchbearers of knowledge and culture in the academic community, especially the new students who have stepped into the sacred realm of the university, and I pray to God Almighty for the success and prosperity of all these dear ones.
