The news of the passing of the distinguished scholar of the Islamic world, Ayatollah Hashemi Shahroodi, the Head of the Expediency Discernment Council, a member of the Guardian Council, the former Chief of the Judiciary, and the First Deputy of the Assembly of Experts for Leadership, came after years of enduring very painful illness.
On behalf of the academic community of Qom University of Technology, I express my condolences to the noble nation of Iran, especially to the Supreme Leader (may his shadow be extended) and the esteemed clergy community, and I ask the Almighty God for the elevation of the deceased's ranks and for patience and health for his family and other survivors.
