According to the university's public relations: The second international conference on oil, gas, and petrochemicals was held on 26/9/93 in the international conference hall of Shahid Beheshti University, featuring the participation of Professor Walter Vortisch from the Austrian oil industry, Professor Ghasem Najafpour, representative of ISI journal in Iran, Dr. Gholavand, head of exploration at the National Iranian Oil Company, and prominent Iranian professors both inside and outside the country. Dr. Alireza Azizi and Dr. Mohsen Mohammadi from the faculty of the Industrial University of Qom secured the conference's top article award for their scientific paper on value-added products.
