The commemoration ceremony for the anniversary of Martyr General Qassem Soleimani was held virtually, thanks to the efforts of the Student and Cultural Affairs Office, the Representative Office of the Supreme Leader, the Student Basij, and the University of Qom's Staff Basij.
According to the university's Public Relations Office; in the virtual ceremony commemorating the anniversary of Martyr General Qassem Soleimani, Dr. Rezaei Noor, the President of University of Qom, expressed condolences on the occasion of the martyrdom of Hazrat Fatima (S) and the beloved General Qassem Soleimani, while also honoring the decade of insight and the covenant with the leadership. He stated: "The martyrdom of Major General Qassem Soleimani reminds us of past events during the decade of insight and covenant with the leadership. One of the significant anniversaries of this time is the uprising of 19 Dey in 1356 in Qom and other cities across the country, which contributed to the victory of the revolution and a major transformation in the country. Additionally, the epic of Ashura on 9 Dey 1388 is another significant event of this period, which thwarted a conspiracy against the Islamic system, marking this day as an important occasion. Other notable events of this decade include the demonstrations by the revolutionary people of the country following the riots of Dey 1396.
He added: "Last year, a terrorist operation planned by the global America led to the martyrdom of the beloved General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis. Of course, the martyrdom of these saints of God, like their lives, has contributed to nurturing the robust tree of the Islamic Revolution and the axis of resistance against global arrogance. Honoring this commander of the resistance front, whom the Supreme Leader rightly referred to as a global farewell, is significant as the people had an unprecedented and epic presence on the scene."
The President of University of Qom said: "Today, as global arrogance seeks to create challenges and disrupt the revolution through media warfare, economic pressure, and the assassination of scholars and elites of this land, a diligent effort and movement towards realizing the scientific and economic visions of the country is essential."
