According to the Public Relations Department of the university: The farewell ceremony for Dr. Akhoundi and the introduction of Dr. Khoshnavisan was attended by Dr. Shariati Niasar, the esteemed Deputy Minister for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, along with managers of executive agencies in the province, on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in the conference hall of Shahid Akhoundi Industrial University of Qom.
Initially, Dr. Akhoundi expressed his gratitude to all the attendees, highlighting the young executive workforce and distinguished faculty as strengths of the Industrial University of Qom. He noted that during his year of leadership at this university, with the presence of motivated young individuals and professors mostly from the most prestigious universities in Iran, significant strides were made, including the acquisition of land and budget adjustments.
Continuing, Dr. Shariati Niasar, the Deputy Minister for Educational Affairs, identified quantitative and qualitative control, as well as authority and coordination, as crucial factors within the executive body of the ministry and universities. He added that in order to enhance quality in universities, no licenses will be granted for establishing non-governmental institutions and that more refined and precise oversight on the educational aspect will be implemented using specific educational indicators.
The Deputy Minister for Educational Affairs regarded Iran as distinguished for having two vocational universities, one technical and vocational and the other scientific and applied, which sets it apart from other countries in this field, expressing hope for the country's educational situation.
In conclusion, Dr. Khoshnavisan, the caretaker of the Industrial University of Qom, congratulated everyone on the nuclear agreements and the blessed birthday of the Supreme Leader (may his shadow be long), while emphasizing that to advance the university, prioritizing quality improvement in organizational behavior, professional ethics, and education and research is essential.
He mentioned that, according to discussions held with faculty members, all educational and research activities of the Industrial University of Qom will be directed towards addressing environmental protection issues. It is hoped that through our efforts in this area, the Industrial University of Qom will be recognized as an environmentally friendly university.
