With respect and condolences during the mourning period of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her), it is announced that a special ceremony for the university community of Qom Province will be held to commemorate the exemplar of knowledge, sincerity, and insight, Ayatollah Mohammad Taqi Mesbah Yazdi (may he rest in peace), with the presence of his esteemed family on Sunday, January 10, 2021, after the noon and afternoon prayers at the University of Qom mosque, following health protocols.
The University of Qom, as the host of this ceremony, invites all esteemed colleagues and university members to participate in this event.
Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi (may he rest in peace), founder and head of the Imam Khomeini Educational and Research Institute, was an elected representative of the people of Khorasan Razavi in the Assembly of Experts, a former member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, a member of the Society of Teachers of Qom seminary, and the former head of the Supreme Council of the World Ahlulbayt Assembly (peace be upon them). He passed away on December 12, 2020, in one of the hospitals in Tehran.
According to the university's public relations report, the funeral procession for Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi was held on January 5, 2021, from the prayer hall of Qom City towards the holy shrine of Lady Masoumah (peace be upon her), and his pure body, after a lifetime of struggle defending the ideals of Islam and the revolution, was laid to rest near the radiant shrine of Lady Fatimah Masoumah (peace be upon her) and in proximity to the grave of Ayatollah Bahjat, finding eternal peace in the embrace of the soil. In this ceremony, the university board and several managers and staff members of Qom University of Technology accompanied the large crowds of mourners and students of this esteemed teacher.
