The head of the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Center at Qom University of Technology: Establishing a unified window network is a necessity for the country.
According to the university's public relations, Engineer Afifeh Fariduni mentioned regarding the smart service window and the necessity of connecting the university system to it: Establishing a single-window network is essential for the country; as the large number of systems and their diversity have led to issues with the multiplicity of application systems for users.
He added: According to Note 7 of the decisions made in November 2022 by the Electronic Government Development and Smartization Committee of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, the university is obliged to create a single-window for smart services and connect it to the single-window for university services.
Engineer Fariduni stated that the aim of creating this window is to establish and enhance governance in information technology within higher education, adding that users including students, graduates, faculty members, and academic assistants can connect to the university service window through the national smart government service window and subsequently access other systems of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology or the information database related to educational credentials, etc.
He mentioned: Increasing transparency and integration of services is one of the goals of this link between the applicants for electronic government services and the service providers. Access to the service window is achieved through identity verification and centralized integrated login, allowing users to use the same username and password for access to various systems. This integration facilitates monitoring and evaluation of services and identifying weaknesses.
The head of the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Center at Qom University of Technology stated in relation to the establishment of a single-window network: We have launched an electronic service desk at the university, and considering that all processes are currently carried out electronically. Additionally, in order to adhere to all related SSO protocols, integration of systems has been conducted so that audiences can reach their goals in the shortest possible time. In this regard, a representative from the university has been introduced to the Ministry of Science.
He added: Ultimately, in order to connect the university systems to the university service window, discussions have been held with several companies and a decision has been made regarding the selection of an appropriate company. Currently, the university is pursuing a contract with the mentioned company to advance the work.
Engineer Fariduni regarding the challenges and obstacles to achieving a national window in the field of information technology said: The main challenge is signing a contract with the SSO service providers, and it is suggested that the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology introduce a certified company to the ministries and universities. Additionally, financial concerns are among the most significant challenges of this task.
