According to the Public Relations of the university: The second graduation ceremony for students of Qom University of Technology was held on Thursday, 30/11/1393 (21 February 2015), in the amphitheater hall, attended by the board of trustees, faculty members, 78 students from the fields of civil engineering, mechanics, electricity, industry, and computer science, along with their families, organized by the cultural management.
At the beginning of this ceremony, Sheikh al-Islam and Muslims Omidian referred to a Hadith from the Prophet Muhammad, which states: "In the land of Persia, there are people who seek knowledge, even if it is in the heavens." He added: "Today, the scholars of this land are raising the proud flag of our country all over the world in various fields, including nanotechnology, stem cells, and more, thus embodying the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad."
Furthermore, Sheikh al-Islam and Muslims Akhoundzadeh, the provincial representative of the Supreme Leader’s Office at Qom University of Technology, expressed joy about the parents' happiness, noting: "Parents are happier than their children today due to the heavy responsibility of raising them, as your graduation signifies their success in nurturing you."
Also, Dr. Khoshnavisan, the Vice President for Education and Research at the university, pointed out both the strengths and weaknesses of the institution, stating: "Considering that Qom University of Technology is a developing university, and after a few years, I have rejoined the family of Qom University of Technology, I apologize for all the shortcomings."
Dr. Akhoundi, the founder and supervisor of the university, mentioned the establishment of the university and stated: "The rapid advancement of science poses a threat to technical and engineering fields, as we are living on the cutting edge of science today, and this lifestyle leads to the phasing out of certain disciplines and the emergence of new ones. Therefore, we must consider future studies from this point onward."
He regarded the students and professors of this university, most of whom are from prominent Iranian universities, as valuable assets of the institution, adding: "By highlighting significant actions such as the 100% increase in the university’s financial budget and securing funding for the construction of the new university building, I hope we will witness your presence at Qom University of Technology as professors, observing the excellence of this university in the not-so-distant future."
At the end, after presenting plaques of appreciation and awards to the top students in each field, the ceremony of reciting the oath and taking commemorative photos took place.
Organizing competitions, religious chants, and inviting student couples were among other programs included in this celebration.
