According to the university's public relations: The Engineer Day celebration was held by the cultural management and in cooperation with the scientific associations in the Shahid Akhoundi conference hall of the university, attended by Engineer Nasiri, the head of Iran’s employment center.
During the event, Hojjatoleslam Dr. Ghorbani, the representative of the Supreme Leader's office at the university, congratulated the Engineer Day and considered Khwaja Nasir al-Din Tusi as a master of all arts. He added that Khwaja Nasir al-Din Tusi was a scholar who excelled in ethics, logic, philosophy, theology, mathematics, and astronomy during his time. The Maragheh observatory and library are among the legacies of Khwaja Nasir al-Din Tusi that were established by him.
Furthermore, Dr. Karimi, the student and cultural deputy of the university, congratulated Engineer Day to the students of today and the engineers of tomorrow. He mentioned the current status of the country, saying that today, the presence of efficient engineers is felt more than ever in society.
He pointed out the courses taught at industrial universities, stating that completing coursework is necessary for an effective, elite, and active engineer, but it is not sufficient. He emphasized the necessity of enhancing essential skills for engineers. The bachelor’s degree is one of the best opportunities for skill development.
Dr. Karimi stated that students should prepare themselves for entry into the job market by completing various courses required for industrial work.
Additionally, Engineer Nasiri, the head of Iran’s employment center, emphasized the crucial and vital role of engineers in the country, stating that one of the characteristics of successful engineers is that they become familiar with industrial work during their studies and engage in industrial environments. In this way, they can closely identify industrial problems and challenges and find solutions to address them.
He considered ethical integrity, a sense of work responsibility, and engineering ethics as significant traits of today's engineers, adding that fairness and honesty in fulfilling commitments to all employers and stakeholders, as well as providing high-quality engineering services to the public, are hallmarks of successful engineers.
The celebration of Engineer Day also featured contests such as Lip Sync, Hot Seat, animation voice-over, and the recognition of outstanding scientific associations.
Notably, according to the evaluations conducted, the Scientific Association of Industries and Mechanics ranked first, the Scientific Associations of Computer Science and Engineering Physics ranked second, and the Scientific Associations of Polymer and Civil Engineering ranked third.
