The development of green industries is being pursued as a strategic objective in Qom.

According to the public relations of the university, quoting IRNA: The President of Qom Industrial University stated that through conducting scientific research and collaborating with industrial centers in the province, the development of green industries in this province is pursued as a strategic goal.
Jalal Rezaei-Noor said in an interview with IRNA on Wednesday: One of the important goals of Qom Industrial University, based on the green university slogan, is to support the development of green technologies and the expansion of clean industries in the province. To this end, an Environmental Protection Group has been established at this university.
He referred to the outlined vision for the development of green industries in Qom and added: Efforts for the advancement of nature-compatible industrial activities in the province, considering the necessary standards in the field of environmental protection, is an important issue that is on the agenda of Qom Industrial University.
He continued: The use of the latest scientific findings in the industrial sector plays a crucial role in reducing industrial pollution. In this regard, the professors and students of Qom Industrial University, through field presence in the production units of the province and understanding the needs of this sector, aim to implement scientific findings in practice.
Rezaei-Noor also pointed out that, in order to increase the production capacity of the province, extensive cooperation between industry and university is needed, and emphasized: In this regard, Qom Industrial University, by creating the necessary infrastructure for closer communication with industry and utilizing the scientific capacities of its professors and students, aims to strengthen the operational levels of the province's industrial units.
He added: The level of industry-university interaction in Qom has been on an upward trend in recent years, and this issue not only serves as an important factor in helping to solve the problems of active industries in Qom, but also provides a suitable opportunity for employment for students in technical and engineering fields.
The volume of investment made for the industrial units in Qom exceeds 80 trillion rials, which, with this level of investment, has created job opportunities for more than 60,000 people in approximately 2,400 industrial and production units in the province.
Qom has seven industrial towns: Shokoohiyeh, Alghadir, Printing and Publishing, Salafchegan, Mahmoodabad, Daroodgaran, Information and Communication Technology (I.C.T), and four industrial zones: Khorabad, Dashtjerd, Seyro, and Tagharood. Each of these has outstanding potential for the development of investment, production, and employment.
