Holding a Night Sky Observation Contest

The Night Sky Observation Competition was held on Sunday, May 17, at Qom University, thanks to the efforts of the officials from the Faculty of Basic Sciences and the Engineering Physics Association.
According to the public relations office of the university: Considering this year has been designated as the International Year of Light, the Engineering Physics Association, in collaboration with the Faculty of Basic Sciences, organized a competition named "Night Sky Observation" under the supervision of Dr. Sepehr Arbabi, the secretary of the Executive Committee for the International Year of Light in Qom.
With a scientific background required to participate in the competition, two educational workshops were held in the amphitheater by Mr. Ali Ahmadi.
The competition began on Sunday, the 27th, in the university courtyard, with the presence of 10 participants, 3 judges, and the esteemed university president, Dr. Akhundi.
At the beginning of the competition, Dr. Arbabi provided explanations regarding the organization of the event, and after conducting the Maghrib and Isha prayers and grouping the participants, the competition commenced at 19:17.
After completing three stages, Ms. Shirin Mohammadi, Maryam Al-Sadat Mousavi, and Zahra Tajik secured the first, second, and third positions respectively, and they were honored at the end of the event.
