The election for the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was held virtually on Saturday, July 11, 2020, with the participation of all faculty members in this department.
According to the university's public relations report; in a meeting held virtually to select the Dean of the newly established Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Mohammad Fadaei was elected to this position by receiving the highest number of votes among the three candidates for the deanship. At the end of this virtual meeting, Dr. Rezaei Nour, the President of the University, confirmed Mr. Dr. Fadaei's appointment and congratulated him, expressing appreciation for the participation of other candidates and the 100% engagement of faculty members in this election, acknowledging their serious attention to their own outcomes. He also emphasized the necessity of close interaction between the Dean and the faculty members, staff, and students, advocating for a participatory management style and utilizing collective wisdom in decision-making. The development of the Metallurgy program at the undergraduate level and the Engineering Physics program at the undergraduate level were highlighted as other priorities for the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering moving forward.
It is worth mentioning that according to the executive regulations, the selection of managers and deputies is within the authority of the university president. Consequently, based on Dr. Rezaei Nour's opinion, the selection of department heads and deans at Qom University of Technology is conducted through an election and voting system. The adoption of this method for faculty members' participation in selecting managers and deans has fostered enthusiasm, motivation, and better interaction among faculty members in advancing the university's goals.
