The first research project of the pharmaceutical industry at Qom University of Technology is currently in the operational phase.

According to the Public Relations of the university: Concurrently with the launch of the interdisciplinary research laboratory at Qom University of Technology, the first research project in the pharmaceutical industry is also being operationalized in this laboratory.
Dr. Abbas Malataki, considering his research in the fields of anti-cancer drugs, anti-Alzheimer's drugs, and antioxidants, as well as his presentations at scientific forums, stated as the executor of this research project: Currently, the country has an urgent need to supply medications for specific diseases, and given the reliance on the importation of these medications and the foreign currency leaving the country, there should be special attention to designing pharmaceutical research projects. This is because, in addition to increasing pharmaceutical production, the high costs of purchasing these medications for patients will be reduced.
Dr. Malataki, the head of the Faculty of Basic Sciences at Qom University of Technology, added: So far, the operational phase of this research project aimed at achieving the molecular architecture of several specific drugs has been successful. It is also hoped that with identification, validation, and clinical trials, the results of this research will be beneficial in assisting cancer patients.
