Faculty Professional Development Program Held at Qom University of Technology

According to the Public Relations Office of Qom University of Technology, a two-day faculty professional development course was held at the university’s Shahid Chamran Conference Hall. The event aimed to enhance the teaching and research capabilities of faculty members, with a particular focus on preparations for the upcoming academic year.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Jafar Ghanbari, President of Qom University of Technology, welcomed the faculty members. Noting the start of the new academic year, he emphasized the necessity of synergy, strategic planning, and leveraging the scientific and specialized expertise of the faculty to advance the university's development and elevate its standing.

Subsequently, Hojjatoleslam val-Moslemin Mohebbi, Head of the Supreme Leader's Representative Office at the university, highlighted the pivotal role of professors within the academic environment. He underscored the importance of addressing scientific, educational, and cultural dimensions in the process of educating and nurturing students.
Dr. Fadaei, the University’s Vice President for Education and Research, outlined the objectives and key themes of the professional development course, detailing the planned programs designed to boost faculty teaching and research competencies.
In another segment of the course, Dr. Seyed Fariborz Zarei, Director of Research and Technology Affairs, examined the research standing of both Iran and Qom University of Technology. Referencing various scientometric indicators, he emphasized the need to shift focus from merely increasing the volume of publications toward conducting high-quality, impactful, and purposeful research. He also proposed strategies to enhance faculty research performance, such as strengthening scientific collaborations, selecting research topics strategically, increasing the visibility of scholarly work, and leveraging international opportunities.

 Another highlight of the program was the participation of Dr. Seyed Saeed-Reza Montazeri, Head of the Qom Province Elites Foundation; he addressed the faculty members of Qom University of Technology, outlining the Foundation’s capacities and programs, as well as opportunities for support and the advancement of scientific and research activities.


Through educational and specialized sessions, this two-day event provided an opportunity for the exchange of ideas, scientific synergy, and faculty familiarization with key aspects of the university's educational and research endeavors.
