Special Program for Research Week and Honoring Outstanding Researchers of Qom University of Technology

According to the university's public relations report, National Research and Technology Week is an opportunity to focus attention on various aspects of research and technology in the country. It allows all stakeholders to become informed about existing trends and conditions in the country, leading to better and more significant future planning. The selection and introduction of distinguished individuals in the fields of research and technology, along with their recognition, as well as the creation of opportunities for interaction among stakeholders through various means such as exhibitions, technology markets, conferences, seminars, and press and media interviews, creates an environment in the country that enhances the status of research and technology, laying a solid groundwork for the continued strengthening and development of research and technology, which is essential for the real progress of the country and for generating wealth, welfare, and security for the people in both social and cultural dimensions. Since 2000, in order to promote a culture of research, the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology named the last week of Azar (December) as Research Week, in accordance with the designation of December 25 as Research Day by the Public Culture Council, and entrusted the organization of this week to the ministry’s research department.

Objectives of holding Research and Technology Week:

- Promoting the culture of research and technology at the national level and enhancing the status and dignity of active researchers and technologists in this field.

- Encouraging and motivating researchers and technologists in the country to produce more science and technology, along with the dignity and wealth it brings.

- Clarifying the current state of research and technology, its trends, and its future in the country for public opinion and officials, and gathering feedback for coordination and progress in work.

- Identifying and showcasing research and technology findings.

- Creating a foundation for the commercialization of research results and developed technologies.

- Establishing constructive connections between researchers and technologists in executive organizations and buyers of achievements, or strengthening the relationship between academia and industry.

- Encouraging and recognizing outstanding researchers and technologists.

- Evaluating the research and technology activities of universities and other research centers over the past year.

- Increasing the sensitivity and attention of managers to research and technology activities.

The names of the days of Research and Technology Week in 2022 are as follows:

December 10; Jihad of clarification and scientific and technological achievements

December 11; Schools and creative future-makers

December 12; Humanities and basic sciences - Pillars of the knowledge-based economy

December 13; The university as the origin of knowledge production and job creation

December 14; Research and technology, the foundation of reference and scientific diplomacy

December 15; Scientists and academic elites; the driving force of research and technology

In this context, Qom University of Technology will hold a special program for Research Week and award distinguished researchers of the university on Sunday, 18/12/2022, from 12:30 to 14:00 in the university's amphitheater.

All interested parties, professors, and students are invited to participate in this program.
