According to the university's public relations: The research project of Dr. Jafar Khademzadeh Yeganeh and Dr. Mohsen Najafi, faculty members of the Polymer Department at Qom University of Technology, has been recognized as a top research project at the 10th National Research and Technology Festival for the Industry, Mining, and Trade.
This project focuses on examining suitable plasticizers for use in the PVC industry and suggesting alternative materials to the DOP plasticizer.
Dr. Khademzadeh Yeganeh highlighted the importance of this project, stating: "Given that Qom is considered one of the main hubs for shoes and sandals in the country, the correct and cost-effective use of PVC is one of the primary concerns for the province's industrialists."
The faculty of the Polymer Department at Qom University of Technology added: "In this context, the use of plasticizers is very important and necessary. Currently, DOP is one of the most widely used plasticizers in the PVC industry. However, issues such as the exclusivity of its raw materials and the high pollution levels of these substances have posed significant challenges for industrialists."
Dr. Khademzadeh Yeganeh stated: "The proposed plasticizer in this project has addressed the existing problems for industrialists. This project will be implemented after securing funding."
