According to the public relations office of the university, as reported by IRNA: The president of Qom University of Technology stated that this university has stepped up to strengthen the capacity of the province's production units by utilizing the scientific capabilities of its professors and students.
Jalal Razai Noor said on Friday in an interview with an IRNA reporter: In this regard, Qom University of Technology has established an office for cooperation between industry and university known as "Cafe Seda" (short for industry, university, and elevation) in the Shakouhieh Industrial Park of the province to further facilitate communication between academics and industrialists.
He pointed out that establishing the office for cooperation between industry and university in Qom is an effective step to enhance interaction and communication between university professors and users of the province's industrial units, adding that this office provides a suitable platform for solving problems in the province's industry through practical research conducted by the professors and students of Qom University of Technology.
He continued: Furthermore, this office offers a great opportunity to introduce students from technical and engineering fields to industrialists for organizing internship programs for students in active industrial units in Qom, which can be optimally utilized to address the issues in the province's industry.
The president of Qom University of Technology remarked: The establishment of Cafe Seda has also created a good opportunity for signing cooperation agreements to address the challenges facing the province's industry among university professors and users of industrial units and plays a role in the growth and development of economic activities in Qom.
He noted that Cafe Seda is active on the web: In the ongoing process of facilitating communication between academics and industrialists in the province, we aim to make maximum use of virtual space to increase familiarity between these two groups to address the issues of active industries in Qom through scientific and practical research.
The amount of investment made for the industrial units in Qom is approximately 80 thousand billion rials, which has created job opportunities for over 60 thousand people in about 2,400 industrial and production units in the province with this level of investment.
Qom has seven industrial parks: Shakouhieh, Al-Ghadir, Printing and Publishing, Salafchegan, Mahmoodabad, Duruudgaran, Information and Communication Technology (I.C.T), and four industrial zones: Khurabad, Dashtjerd, Siroo, and Tagharood, each of which offers a favorable position for investment, production, and employment development.
