According to the public relations of the university: Given the repeated recommendations of the Supreme Leader regarding the importance of self-confidence in the youth, especially university students in the country, and recognizing the significance of fostering self-esteem in the culture of the younger generation, the Islamic Student Society of Qom Industrial University held the "We Can" conference with a speech by Engineer Mostafa Mir-Salim, a member of the Expediency Council, in the Shahid Akhundi Conference Hall at the university.
At this conference, Engineer Mir-Salim expressed his happiness at being at this university and stated: During the war, it was the youth of Iran who achieved victory with minimal military equipment. During the sanctions, despite the fact that our youth have much to say scientifically, they have fallen into despair and hopelessness due to a lack of self-belief.
He said: We must turn sanctions from a threat into an opportunity. In Iran, while we sit and import goods from China and India, we are not thinking about production and increasing efficiency.
He added: In the fields of nuclear energy, military equipment, medicine, nanotechnology, etc., Iran has achieved significant accomplishments, but we have not yet reached a state of confidence and self-belief. If our youth have sufficient self-confidence, the government should not create jobs; it is the young people themselves who can create jobs.
Engineer Mir-Salim emphasized: A more critical point for our youth is their goals. Parents and school mentors should know that the first six years of a child's life are decisive for their future. In many countries, specialists are present in kindergartens to identify children's talents, and based on that, parents plan for their children's futures. You students, especially new students, should keep this in mind so that the government does not spend years on your education, only for you to realize later that you are not interested in this field.
The member of the Expediency Council stated: During the period of sanctions, by maintaining a spirit of self-belief and relying on the statements and guidance of the Supreme Leader, we must demonstrate "We Can" both scientifically and practically so that the enemy understands that our system, our beliefs, our culture, and our identity will not be plundered by sanctions.
On the sidelines of this conference, Engineer Mir-Salim met and conversed with Dr. Rezai Nour, the president of Qom Industrial University, and Dr. Kafayati Mand Ghiour, the senior advisor to the presidency.
