Meeting of the University Board with Ayatollah Gerami (may his shadow last).

Grand Ayatollah (may his shadow last): Qom University of Technology has a very significant responsibility because your work contributes to the development of the country and, in a way, creates welfare for the Shia generation.
The Board of Trustees, several faculty members, and staff of Qom University of Technology met with Grand Ayatollah (may his shadow last) on Saturday, 17/3/93, in his office.
At the beginning of this meeting, Dr. Mashkooh Al-Sadat, the President of Qom University of Technology, mentioned that training specialized, committed, and loyal forces is one of the university's greatest goals. He added that the holy city of Qom, in addition to being the capital of religious and Islamic sciences in the world, has also made numerous industrial advances. The presence of factories and industrial parks in this city supports this claim. Given these circumstances, Qom University of Technology can play a significant role in the growth of the province's industry.
Since 1387, Qom University of Technology has strengthened its scientific and research foundations by attracting 53 faculty members, establishing 38 laboratories and workshops, and signing several memorandums of understanding with various sectors of the province's industry and research institutes aimed at training specialized, committed, and loyal forces. Furthermore, the interest of professors from various provinces to collaborate with this university in this holy city has been very notable. I hope that with the guidance of the Supreme Leader and you esteemed scholars, along with the blessings of Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his return) and Hazrat Masoumeh (peace be upon her), we can take steps toward the advancement of our dear Iran.
Grand Ayatollah expressed his happiness at this meeting and added: It is stated in the verses and narratives that anyone who strives for the betterment of their family's life will earn abundant rewards. In this context, Qom University of Technology has a very significant responsibility, as you gentlemen are tasked with the development of the country and, in a way, providing welfare for the Shia generation. Thus, your work will also bring substantial rewards. Of course, this university has made good progress based on its publications and internal functioning, and it is hoped that it will achieve a higher status day by day.
The esteemed religious authority of the Shia world, Grand Ayatollah (may his shadow last) emphasized: The enemy's goal is to eliminate Shia and Shi'ism. Today, the USA and Europe have taken the lead in industrial matters, but based on the verses and narratives that state men from Fars will rise, they seek knowledge and will find it even if it is in the heavens. We can, too, reclaim our rightful place.
You, as academics, have a long journey ahead of you. The path of knowledge is very noble, and the efforts you dear ones make on this path are commendable. I hope that your development increases day by day.
