According to the Public Relations Office of the University: Dr. Khoshnevisan, President of Qom University of Technology, met and discussed with Engineer Sadighi, the Governor of Qom.
In this meeting, Engineer Sadighi referred to the water scarcity in the province. He added: Considering the climatic and environmental conditions, Qom Province is among the low-water provinces of the country. Moreover, due to the lack of precipitation, we must manage natural resources as precisely as possible.
The Governor of Qom emphasized: Universities can play an important role in the community regarding the reform of resource consumption patterns, especially water. Despite water scarcity, drought, the presence of dust particles, and air pollution due to the presence of industrial estates in the province and adjacent areas, through the provision of research projects by universities and making them applicable, we can significantly alleviate and control the situation.
Dr. Khoshnevisan added: Given that water scarcity has become pervasive worldwide, undoubtedly, providing initial plans in this area in the short and medium term will be effective, but overall, changing the agricultural pattern to greenhouse and hydroponic systems will be more effective.
