Dr. Masoud Kafaytamand, the former mayor of District 11 in Greater Tehran, has become the senior advisor to the president of Qom University of Technology.

According to the Public Relations of the university: The introduction ceremony of Dr. Masoud Kafaytmand Gheyour as the Senior Advisor to the President of Qom University of Technology was held this morning with the presence of the Head of the Office of the Supreme Leader’s Representative at the university, vice presidents, deans of faculties, and managers in the presidential hall.

Initially, Dr. Rezaei, the President of the university, thanked the officials for their cooperation during the university's summer break and briefly introduced the background of Dr. Kafaytmand Gheyour.

He added: Dr. Kafaytmand graduated with a Doctorate in Project Management and Construction from Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, and has obtained a diploma in Executive Education from the ESC-Lille management school in France. In addition to serving as a visiting professor at universities including Tehran, Tarbiat Modares, Imam Hussein (PBUH), and Malik Ashtar (PBUH) at high levels of executive management, he has a successful track record in urban management, oil and gas industries, and information and communication technology.

The President of Qom University of Technology emphasized that Dr. Kafaytmand has previously served as the mayor of District 11 in Tehran, an area significant for its unique features, including the presence of important political and military centers such as the residence of the Supreme Leader, the Presidential Office, the Guardian Council, the Supreme National Security Council, and the Expediency Discernment Council. Moreover, embassies from Italy, France, the Vatican, and Armenia, along with prominent publishing houses, key universities, and cultural centers such as Teacher Training University, the Academic Jihad, Allameh Tabatabai University, City Theater, and Vahdat Hall, have endowed this region with strategic importance.

Dr. Rezaei stressed: God willing, with the collaboration of the academic community of Qom University of Technology in developing and implementing programs, the strategic document, deliberations on specific decisions, increasing productivity, and evaluating staff, we will benefit from Dr. Kafaytmand's valuable insights.

Continuing, the Senior Advisor to the President stated: "It is my honor to serve as a servant of the city of the noble family of the Prophet. Furthermore, with the precise approaches and planning of Dr. Rezaei Noor, who has a compassionate and meticulous managerial outlook, I hope to contribute to the advancement of Qom University of Technology in a friendly and warm atmosphere. I also encourage you all to share your constructive thoughts to assist us in achieving the university's lofty goals."

Hojjatoleslam and Muslims Sharifi Doost, Head of the Supreme Leader’s Representative Office, welcomed Dr. Kafaytmand Gheyour and expressed gratitude to Dr. Rezaei for his commitment to advancing university affairs. He added that Dr. Kafaytmand's managerial experience has raised our expectations. We hope, with the help of our friends, to witness significant progress at Qom University of Technology.

He further stated: "One issue that the Supreme Leader (may his shadow last) has repeatedly mentioned is the need for closer industry and university relationships, which we hope to see progress in as well."

In conclusion, Dr. Rezaei referred to the activities carried out in recent weeks: He mentioned that there has been an increase in student capacity and discussions about defining a graduate program in organic chemistry in collaboration with the educational and research department. Also, addressing the concerns of the faculty heads regarding the lack of physical space, we have upgraded the Electrical and Computer Engineering department in terms of physical space and the quality of classrooms.

Additionally, the enhancement and modification of the library space has been another activity in recent weeks, and we hope that the university library will be inaugurated under the name of Shahid Moshkooh Alsadat in mid-September. Comprehensive improvements to dormitory conditions, enhancement of the university entrance, and conversion of part of the parking area into a small sports hall were among the other activities conducted during the university break.

This ceremony concluded with the presentation of the appointment of Dr. Kafaytmand Gheyour as the Senior Advisor to the President.
