According to the public relations office of the university: A meeting between Dr. Ebtekar, the Vice President and Head of the Environmental Protection Organization, and Dr. Khoshnavisan, the President of Qom University of Technology, took place on Monday, 11/08/1394, at Qom University of Technology.
In this meeting, Dr. Khoshnavisan welcomed Dr. Ebtekar and her accompanying delegation, and pointed out the university's mission-oriented approach towards eco-friendly industry. He added that the faculty members of this university are one of the main potentials in realizing this important goal, as the first university in the country dedicated to environmental protection.
The President of Qom University of Technology stated that given the presence of industrial parks surrounding Qom, which predominantly rely on traditional methods, the activities of Qom University of Technology in the field of eco-friendly industry can significantly enhance the province's industry and improve environmental conditions.
He indicated that with the allocation of land for the university: upon securing funding, we will begin constructing the university based on environmental laws and regulations in the form of a green building to serve as a model for other universities and organizations.
Dr. Ebtekar expressed her satisfaction with this meeting and added: The approach of Qom University of Technology towards eco-friendly industrial activities is commendable and deserving of support.
The Vice President emphasized the importance of incorporating environmental topics into the engineering curriculum and stated: Engineers, by becoming more familiar with environmental issues and applying this knowledge in industry and construction, can address many environmental problems.
Dr. Ebtekar added: Given the capabilities of Qom University of Technology in the field of environmental protection, we support the establishment of a central laboratory for assessing environmental pollutants, which can be utilized as an accredited environmental laboratory.
At the end, the faculty members explained the university’s research projects in the field of environmental protection.
