Finally, after several years of follow-up, the demand of students at Qom University of Technology for the construction of an overpass in front of the university has been realized.
According to the public relations of the university; from the establishment of Qom University of Technology until now, the mobility of students has always been accompanied by risks and unfortunate incidents due to the proximity of the university to the old Qom – Tehran road, which is considered one of the main arteries of transportation in the country. The passage of heavy vehicles and the high speed of vehicles on this road has repeatedly caused accidents and significant personal and financial damages to the students.
The importance of preserving the lives of students prompted the request for the construction of an overpass as a serious demand from students and university officials since the early years after the establishment of the university. In recent years, with the expansion of the university, the increase in the number of students, and consequently the rise in student traffic, the need for a pedestrian overpass has become even more apparent.
Ultimately, the repeated demands of students regarding the construction of an overpass and the sincere follow-up by university officials led to a situation where, despite existing problems, provincial officials, with special attention to this issue, engaged in negotiations and obtained the necessary approvals, fulfilling this long-standing wish of the university in order to preserve student lives and ensure their peace and safety. For this purpose, with the efforts and determination of the relevant officials, one of the overpasses around the university was relocated to the front of the university after identifying suitable locations and moving nearby power poles.
