According to the public relations office of the university: the president of Qom Industrial University met with Ayatollah Lankarani. During this meeting, Ayatollah Lankarani stated: One of the blessings of the Islamic Revolution that has been overlooked is the unity between the seminary and the university.
Dr. Rezai Noor, the president of Qom Industrial University, mentioned during the meeting with Ayatollah Lankarani that, given the numerous industrial parks in the vicinity of Qom province and its proximity to the metropolitan cities of Tehran and Isfahan, the role of Qom Industrial University is very important and fundamental.
He stated: This university was established in 2008 with the aim of developing the industry of the country and the province, offering two fields of study: Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering. Currently, Qom Industrial University accommodates 2,000 students from various parts of the country across 3 faculties and 24 technical and engineering disciplines.
Dr. Rezai Noor pointed out that the presence of distinguished and young professors, purposeful young staff, has provided a suitable scientific, research, and cultural background for the students of this university. The president of Qom Industrial University expressed: The effective communication of the university with the offices of the distinguished religious authorities, the choice of chador as attire, conducting specialized knowledge enhancement courses for professors and staff, forming committees of professors and staff, constantly reciting the blessed Ziyarat Ashura and Du’a al-Ahd, and daily interpreting Sahifah Sajjadiyyah and Nahj al-Balagha are among the aspects that distinguish Qom Industrial University from other universities in the country. This way, the university administration aims to transform Qom Industrial University into a model for other universities in the country in terms of hijab, chastity, religious affairs, and cultural issues.
Ayatollah Lankarani continued: He considered the unity of the seminary and the university to be very important and fundamental, adding: One of Imam Khomeini's (RA) goals was to make the seminary an auxiliary arm to the university and the university an auxiliary arm to the seminary. Unfortunately, we are very behind in this regard.
He stated: One of the most significant effects and blessings of the unity between the seminary and the university is that knowledge is placed under the shade of ethics and piety. Our students must understand that religion has strategic plans for every aspect of life, including daily life, science, culture, and politics. For this reason, students in industrial fields must also attend classes in the seminary. For example, today, the issue of nuclear bombs is a global concern. Our country's industry should not lead to the escalation of public harm and corruption in the world. This is a point that Western scholars are unaware of.
Ayatollah Lankarani emphasized: The university and the seminary must recognize each other. These two scientific and cultural institutions complement each other and have significant duties in educating and promoting religion among the people.
He added: Considering the status of the holy city of Qom, students, officials, and even the general public must stand out from other cities in the country. These dear individuals are invited to be representatives of the Noble House of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and must promote Islamic living.
