Visit of the University Board of Trustees to the Imam Jawad (ع) Dormitory

A cordial meeting of the esteemed board of trustees of Qom Industrial University

with the students of Imam Jawad (AS) dormitory on the occasion of Student Dormitory Week

Continuing the visits of the esteemed board of trustees of Qom Industrial University to student dormitories, on Tuesday, 23/2/1992 at 17, the respected student affairs deputy, Dr. Ghanbari, along with the general director of student affairs, Dr. Rasti, and Mr. Nasiri, the head of the university counseling center, visited the Imam Jawad (AS) dormitory to address the issues faced by the dormitory students. This session began with Dr. Ghanbari congratulating the attendees on the occasion of Dormitory Week, and through the distribution of questionnaires, students raised their concerns with the present members.

Initially, Dr. Ghanbari informed about the draft contract between the university and a new dormitory with a capacity of nearly 300 people, which is equipped with numerous welfare facilities such as a sports complex, self-service cafeteria, study hall, television room, meeting hall, green space, etc., and this dormitory has been designated for the new semester following the board of trustees' efforts.

Then, several students residing in Tehran inquired about establishing a service between Qom and Tehran. Dr. Ghanbari stated that in previous years, this service was initiated by the university but was canceled due to a lack of student interest. During this session, it was proposed that students interested in reinstating this service collaborate with the student council to compile a list of interested students and submit it to the university’s student affairs for necessary actions.

Next, a question arose regarding the university transport services, and Dr. Ghanbari mentioned that an agreement was supposed to be established with a bus company to provide university transport services. However, for various reasons, this did not come to fruition, and currently, the university has a contract with a private company.

Furthermore, a question was raised about the availability of cold water dispensers in Imam Jawad (AS) dormitory. Dr. Ghanbari promised to pursue this matter and stated that if a contract is signed with the new dormitory, this issue will be resolved.

Then a question regarding the decline in quality of some foods was raised. Dr. Rasti mentioned that there hasn’t been any high-quality rice available for about two weeks, which has resulted in a decrease in food quality, and this issue is being followed up on and will soon be resolved.

Next, a question about the teaching methods of some professors was posed. Dr. Ghanbari regarded this matter as one that falls under the purview of the department head and requested that students discuss the teaching methods of certain professors with the relevant department head. In conclusion, the session ended with refreshments and the distribution of prayer books for the blessed months of Rajab, Sha'ban, and Ramadan to the students.
