According to the public relations of the university: In line with the close, direct, and unmediated communication between the officials of Qom Industrial University and students, Dr. Rezai Nour, the president, along with the vice presidents and university managers, visited the Mofid Boys' Dormitory to directly understand the students' problems, suggestions, and criticisms.
During this visit, Dr. Rezai Nour described the students of this university as active, dynamic, and purposeful, stating that the spirit of enthusiasm and vitality among the students of Qom Industrial University has created a friendly and intimate atmosphere. Everyone must collaborate and empathize with each other to strengthen this spirit.
He added: All university officials are making special efforts and endeavors to improve university issues and address the problems of you dear students. The changes that have taken place at this university, including the expansion of educational space, the establishment of the Shahid Shahriari Sports Hall, and the enhancement and upgrade of laboratories and workshops, exemplify the relentless efforts of university officials. Undoubtedly, the concerns of the students are also the concerns of the university officials. In this regard, your contribution as students to the officials is very important and effective.
When the university officials diligently pursue your demands and requests and bring about positive changes, if you also respond positively to the changes made, the motivation of the officials will be further amplified.
The president of Qom Industrial University emphasized: I ask all of you students to critique us, of course with constructive and effective criticism that leads to the development, growth, and progress of the university.
Subsequently, students voiced their issues regarding welfare and living conditions. Problems included internet outages and slow speeds, high dormitory costs, limited food variety and quality of student dinners, pest infestations in the dorms, lack of sports facilities, and poor drinking water quality at the Mofid Boys' Dormitory.
Dr. Rezai Nour, addressing the dormitory problems mentioned, said: We will definitely follow up on the internet issue; however, resolving underlying infrastructural problems will take some time. The variety of food and improving the quality of dinner will also be reviewed, and necessary changes will be made through the students' communication with the welfare council. Pests will also be eradicated as soon as possible with pest control. Furthermore, initial discussions have been conducted regarding the use of the university swimming pool by faculty, staff, and students.
To enhance student welfare, Dr. Rezai Nour announced a reduction in dormitory costs from six million rials to five million rials and stated: An amount of one million rials will be reserved as a difference for the upcoming semester for students. Essentially, with this reduction in dormitory costs, despite a doubling of general expenses, the current year's costs will equal those of the past year and will not see an increase.
Students demanded improvements in educational, cultural, and other issues at the university, including classroom cleanliness, enhancement of the physical space of the Shahid Moshkouteh Library and study hall, improvement of heating and cooling in classrooms, better service schedules, classroom equipment upgrades, and greater support for scientific associations.
The president of Qom Industrial University stated regarding the resolution of university-related issues: Efforts to equip and improve heating and cooling in classrooms are underway. Additionally, with recent planning, the current informatics location will be used as a classroom, and surrounding classrooms near the library will be added to the study hall and library.
Regarding support for scientific associations, he noted: The physical space allocated for scientific associations has been expanded, and the association offices have been moved to the faculties for closer access between students and faculty members.
Finally, students expressed their gratitude and appreciation for Dr. Rezai Nour's relentless efforts in addressing their demands and resolving issues, as well as for creating positive changes at Qom Industrial University. They also declared their full support in assisting officials to address university problems.
