National Research and Technology Week is a time that provides a suitable opportunity to focus on various aspects of research and technology in the country. This allows all stakeholders to better plan for the future by being informed about current trends and situations in the country. The selection and recognition of exemplary figures in the field of research and technology, along with honoring them, creates opportunities for interaction among stakeholders in various ways, such as exhibitions, technology fairs, conferences, seminars, and press and media interviews. This fosters an environment in the country that not only elevates the status of research and technology but also lays a solid foundation for the continued strengthening and development of research and technology, which is essential for the genuine progress of the country and for creating wealth, welfare, and security for the people in social and cultural dimensions. Since 2000, to promote the culture of research, the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology has named the fourth week of Azar as Research Week, taking into account the designation of December 25th as Research Day by the High Council of Cultural Revolution, and has entrusted the responsibility for organizing this week to the Research Deputy of this ministry.
Goals of holding Research and Technology Week:
- Promoting the culture of research and technology nationwide and enhancing the status of active researchers and technologists in this field
- Encouraging researchers and technologists to produce more science and technology and the resulting honor and wealth
- Clarifying the current state of research and technology, its trends, and future outlook in the country for public opinion and officials, and obtaining feedback for coordination and progress
