The General Directorate of Artistic Affairs of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation announces:
The call for submissions for the Second National Film and Screenplay Festival on Sacrifice has been issued by the Artistic Directorate of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation, with the slogan "The Culture of Sacrifice and Martyrdom, Social Empathy, and National Unity."
The General Directorate of Artistic Affairs of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation, aiming to clarify the elements and elevate the community's awareness and understanding of the spiritual values of the culture of sacrifice, martyrdom, resistance, social empathy, and national unity; to identify talents; encourage Iranian artists to produce content; facilitate the publication of research; and create artistic works in this field, is organizing the second film festival focused on explaining the heroic place of martyrdom and sacrifice.
The thematic axes of the festival include: Islamic lifestyle (Martyr-like life), sacrifice, kindness, empathy, affection, dedication and charity, the role of the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom in creating national unity, the role of the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom in fostering hope for life and promoting freedom, the role of the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom in enhancing social security and tranquility, diverse manifestations of social sacrifice and societal culture-building, the sacrificial role of women in family and social relations, the role of the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom in the resistance and perseverance of the Islamic nation, the role of the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom in cultural, political, social, and military cohesion inspired by the teachings of Martyr Haj Qasem Soleimani, and the efforts of organizations and popular institutions in depicting the manifestations of sacrifice in promoting the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom.
Participation in the festival is open to the public; certificates of participation will be awarded to all works accepted into the festival. None of the prizes will be equally or jointly awarded to two works. The production date of works should be from June 2023 onwards.
Participants must submit the festival registration form along with the screenplay to the festival secretariat.
The deadline for submitting works is July 6, 2025.
