The head of the Information Technology and Cyber security Center at Qom University of Technology: The establishment of a single-window network is a necessity for the country

According to the university's public relations report, Engineer Afifeh Faridooni spoke about the smart services portal and the necessity of connecting the university's collection to it, stating: "Establishing a one-stop shop network is essential for the country, as the large number of systems and their diversity have caused users to face issues with the multitude of application systems." She added: "According to Clause 7 of the resolutions of November 2022 from the Electronic Government Development and Smartening Committee of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, universities are obliged to create a smart services one-stop shop for the collection and connect it to the university services one-stop shop." Engineer Faridooni considered the aim of creating this portal to be the establishment and development of information technology governance in higher education, adding: "Users including students, graduates, faculty members, and academic assistants connect to the university services one-stop shop through the national portal of smart government services and from there access other systems of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology or the relevant data repository regarding educational credentials, etc." She said: "Increasing transparency and integration of services are among the goals of this communication bridge between the electronic government services applicants and service providers. Access to the services portal is done through authentication and centralized unified login, allowing users to use the same username and password to access various systems. This integration facilitates monitoring and evaluating services and identifying weaknesses." The head of the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Center at Qom University of Technology mentioned regarding the establishment of the one-stop shop network: "We have launched an electronic service desk at the university, and all processes are currently being conducted electronically. Furthermore, to adhere to all protocols related to SSO, systems integration has been performed so that stakeholders can achieve their goals in the shortest possible time. In this regard, a university representative has been introduced to the Ministry of Science." She added: "Finally, to connect the university systems to the university services portal, negotiations have been held with several companies, and decisions have been made regarding the selection of an appropriate company. Currently, the university is pursuing the signing of a contract with the mentioned company to advance the work." Engineer Faridooni discussed the challenges and obstacles in realizing the national portal in the field of information technology, saying: "The main challenge is concluding contracts with SSO service providers, and it is suggested that the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology introduce an approved company to the subsidiaries of the ministry and universities. Additionally, financial concerns are among the most significant challenges of this task."
