According to the university's public relations office and the prestigious top2percentscientists.com database under Elsevier, which is annually published by Stanford University's bibliometric researchers, two professors from the university's electrical engineering department have been included in the list of the world's top 2% scientists. Dr. Hadi Ziyani and Dr. Hamid Karimi have been recognized for their outstanding research contributions. The selection criteria for the list include the publication of at least five articles, citation count, citation count without self-citations, composite index, total citations, citations in the past year, single-author articles, total citations to single-author articles, researcher ranking in specialized fields, and the identification of the authors' specialized field. In the list published based on one-year citation performance in 2024, 2,327 researchers affiliated with the Islamic Republic of Iran are among the total of 223,152 international researchers. These scientists have been identified based on the number of citations to their published scientific articles up to the end of 2023. The Islamic Republic of Iran ranks first in terms of the number of top 2% highly cited researchers among countries in the region. It is noteworthy that Dr. Hadi Ziyani was also included in the list of the top 2% scientists in the world last year.
