In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We are followers of God's commands; thus, we seek martyrdom, and it is only for this reason that we will not submit to the humiliation and servitude of others besides God. Imam Khomeini (RA)
The Sacred Defense Week annually evokes the themes of resistance, honor, love for the homeland, and defense of beliefs for us. Throughout history, we have witnessed many wars, but the only war that was infused with faith in God, love for the homeland, and fellow countrymen was the eight years of the Sacred Defense. The events of these eight years will not only be forgotten by Iran and Iranians, but every moment of it will remain alive and eternal in history. Today's youth, who are familiar with the teachings of Imam Hussain and the memories of the war, will undoubtedly stand firm for the independence and freedom of this precious land just as the youth of yesterday did, even at the cost of their lives.
On the anniversary of the heroic acts of the great warriors of the Sacred Defense, while paying homage to the exalted spirit of Imam Khomeini (may God’s mercy be upon him) and the ever-living martyrs, I commemorate this grand occasion and request from the Almighty God the success of all to follow the enlightened path of the martyrs under the wise leadership of His Eminence, Ayatollah Khamenei (may God protect him).
