According to the university's public relations office: With the efforts of the office of the Supreme Leader's representative at Qom University of Technology, professors and staff of this university met with the mother of martyr Mohammad Reza Shafiei on Tuesday, 21/11/93.
In this meeting, the mother of this eternal martyr shared the story of her martyred son: Mohammad manipulated his identification documents and joined the front at the age of 14. He was present at the front from 1980 to 1985. Mohammad Reza was martyred after 10 days of captivity in the camp in Mosul, and his body was buried in the al-Kakh cemetery between the cities of Samarra and Kazimayn. After 16 years, his body was sent back to Iran. His hair and beard had not changed; the Ba'athist aggressors had left his body out in the scorching sun for three months to decompose, yet his face remained intact. Only his body had turned blue from the sun. There were even claims that some kind of powder had been sprinkled on his body, but it had no effect. Later, they said that at the border, when exchanging the martyrs, an Iraqi soldier cried as he handed over Mohammad Reza's body, cursing Saddam and lamenting the loss of such human beings. According to one of his comrades, Mohammad Reza was always in a state of purity (Wudu). When reciting the Ziyarat Ashura, he would wipe his tears with his hands and rub them on his body. In the front, he would reserve the water provided for drinking for his Friday bath.
Furthermore, Mr. Rezaei, the security manager, expressed his happiness regarding this meeting, stating: It is thanks to the existence of the families of martyrs that this system remains so robust. When these memories are shared, we feel a greater sense of responsibility and duty towards the system and the revolution. God willing, we will express our gratitude for the sacrifices of all martyrs, especially martyr Mohammad Reza Shafiei, by participating in the February 11 rally.
At the end, Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimeen Akhoundzadeh, the provincial deputy of the Supreme Leader's representation at Qom University of Technology, honored the mother of martyr Mohammad Reza Shafiei with a certificate of appreciation and a memorial gift.
