According to the university's public relations, the conference on "Students, Virtue, and Insight" was held with the presence of Hojjatoleslam and Muslim Dr. Zolnoori, the Deputy Speaker and representative of the people of Qom in the Islamic Consultative Assembly. In this conference, Hojjatoleslam and Muslim Dr. Zolnoori referred to the events of the sedition of 2009, stating: The country was embroiled in sedition for eight months, causing significant damage to the country and the nation, but thankfully the people emerged from this turmoil with resilience and resistance. He added: Previously, the downfall of political systems was achieved through territorial expansion and military conflicts. However, today, overthrows occur through soft warfare techniques. The onset of soft wars began with Salvador Allende, the Marxist Chilean politician. Hojjatoleslam and Muslim Dr. Zolnoori further stated: In the 2009 elections, a soft war was waged aimed at overthrowing the government. Fourteen months prior to the elections, some seemingly revolutionary individuals traveled abroad and held numerous meetings with U.S. security officials. In their think tank, two main strategies of lies and election fraud for the overthrow of the Islamic Republic of Iran were presented, and this policy was adopted. The Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly remarked: A government requires people's trust in the leaders and public confidence in the rulers for its survival. In the 2009 sedition, the enemy targeted these two aspects. So much so that even before the elections were held, journalists asked some of the seemingly revolutionary officials about the elections, and they said that if the supervisory and military bodies allowed it, it would be held properly. He added: The enemy thought that with its experiences in the Velvet Revolutions or the Orange Revolution, it could successfully overthrow the Iranian government. George Soros, the businessman, investor, merchant, and political activist, believed that populist maneuvers were pivotal in overthrowing governments, and the enemy employed this tactic as well. Populist maneuvers cause rulers to retreat, making effective, decision-making officials conflict with each other and weakening military defenders. The enemy launched a populist maneuver with these goals. However, due to the people's insight, all these plots fell apart. He continued: In 2009, some were influenced by emotions, but when attacks on Ashura mourners, assaults on mosques, and burning of the Holy Quran occurred, everyone united in heart and action. In conclusion, Hojjatoleslam and Muslim Dr. Zolnoori answered the students' questions.
